The BraveHeart Men is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This policy explains what information we collect through thebraveheartmen.com and our forms, emails and text messages, how we use it and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us. This includes your name, email address, phone number, mailing address and anything else you enter in a form, application, scholarship request, gift or chat message.
Gift information. Gifts are processed by Stripe. We receive your name, contact details, mailing address and gift history. Your full card number goes to Stripe and is not stored by us.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours and the services it uses may collect basic technical information, such as your browser, device and the pages you visit. Our forms, web chat and videos may use cookies or similar tools to work properly.
How we use information
- To respond to you and provide what you asked for
- To review applications and scholarship requests and prepare for retreats and events
- To process gifts, send receipts and manage monthly giving
- To send emails and, with your consent, text messages
- To operate, protect and improve our website and ministry
- To meet legal and accounting requirements
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the ministry, such as our website, form, email, text messaging and payment providers, and only as needed for that work. We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of people or the ministry.
Information you share in an application or scholarship request is shared only with the BraveHeart leaders who need it to respond to you and serve you.
Text messaging
If you agree to receive text messages, we use your mobile number to send the messages you agreed to. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. See our text messaging terms.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. Service providers that help us deliver text messages may process this information only to provide that service.
Your choices
- Email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
- Text messages: reply STOP.
- Monthly gifts: use the Manage your monthly gift link in the site footer, or email us.
- Your information: email us to ask to see, correct or delete your information. We may need to keep some records, such as gift records, for legal or accounting reasons.
Security and retention
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, but no website or system is completely secure. We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires.
Children
Our website and programs are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it last changed.
